In this role, you will join our engineering team, managing energy efficiency projects, including facility energy assessments, feasibility studies, and assisting with the provision of strategic energy management services to our utility clients’ customers. From day one, our engineers step away from the desk and have the chance to work hands-on with customers to design, develop, test, and implement industry-leading energy efficiency and demand response solutions.

Objectives of this Role:

● Work with facilities to save energy and operate more efficiently
● Leverage and build relationships, connect people to opportunities, and advocate for new and better energy solutions
● Develop and cultivate strong, long-term, positive relationships with facility staff
● Manage multiple projects and initiatives in a fast-paced consulting environment
● Track and coordinate with regional energy efficiency program stakeholders to identify areas for collaboration
● Perform site visits to industrial facilities and perform high-level facility scoping and identify energy-savings opportunities
● Calculate energy savings and draft reports required for approval by our utility clients
● Represent program requirements thoroughly and accurately
● Effectively utilize available technical resources as appropriate
● Provide regular reporting of lead generation, project status or other data Develop a deep understanding of program services, customers, goals, organization, and business strategies, evaluating systems and processes, and identifying improvement opportunities
● Consult with utility customers in identifying energy efficiency solutions, developing project requirements and company standards using simulations/modeling to support business cases
● Meet Energy Infrastructure Partners’ quality standards while maintaining working knowledge of relevant technologies and best practices, and upholding federal and state regulations
● Develop, train, and educate junior engineers, guide technical direction, and act as a technical liaison between customers
● Apply continuous improvement principles to help organizations manage energy
● Apply organizational change management principles to increase the capabilities of individuals and organizations
● Develop strategic plans for executives
● Facilitate training workshops
● Develop regression models (if engineer)
● Provide one-on-one coaching
● Facilitate kaizen-like treasure hunts to identify opportunities to improve energy performance
● Report progress to clients


Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

● Manage execution and timely completion of engineering projects by analyzing scope and determining project specifications, establishing testing methods for product investigations, analyzing test programs for adequacy and sequence, and preparing reports
● Formulate plans with detailed calculations, drawings, diagrams, project specifications and budget estimates, and read and interpret precast reinforcement shop drawings, civil grading plans and structural drawings.
● Evaluate system functionality through rigorous testing, identifying ways to improve efficiency and productivity, and providing maintenance and support activities for all existing solutions
● Monitor industry trends and implement appropriate methods to keep production on the cutting edge, while meeting financial goals and providing cost savings
● Utilize software programming for the preparation of technical specifications, user documentation, presentations, and progress and results tracking
● Build professional skill through continued training, education, and networking events

Skills and Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
● 5+ years experience as an engineer
● Strong electronic testing and database design capabilities
● Strong focus on quality control
● Proven innovative approach to systems development

Preferred Qualifications:

● Professional Engineer (PE) certification
● Experience with software development and platform implementation
● Proven ability to analyze and troubleshoot energy consumption challenges
● Strong project/team management capabilities
